Joey Karson began stripping at eighteen in Pittsburgh. At 19 years old in 1979, she was a slightly chubby blonde dancing at the legendary Melody Burlesk in Manhattan (Broadway at 48th Street.) The theater used to feature traditional burlesque-style strippers such as Tempest Storm.
