Sierra’s entry into the world of stripping began unexpectedly. “A strip club [Platinum Plus] opened down the street from my house, and I got hired there as a waitress,” she recalls. But it didn’t take long for the manager to make a new suggestion. “‘I know we hired you to be a waitress, but we really need dancers,’ he said.” With no experience, no high heels, and no lingerie, Sierra took a leap of faith. “I really needed the money. I had no husband, lots of bills to pay, and I said, ‘What the hell, I’ll just try it.'”
That bold decision paid off, quite literally. “I got some lingerie from K-Mart and some two-inch heels. I got up there, made a thousand dollars the first night, and thought, ‘Okay, I can keep doing this.'” Despite the nerves, her natural allure captivated the audience, though it took her six months to muster up the courage to perform her first table dance.
Eventually, Sierra moved on to bigger and better things—the renowned Gold Club, where the world of burlesque and glamour came alive. “The Gold Club was the absolute best. They believed in glamour,” she says. “We used to do a review every night in sequined gowns, with shows and props, lights and smoke. They spent thousands of dollars on our costumes.”
It was a far cry from the hustle of many strip clubs. “It was true burlesque,” Sierra reflects. Yet, despite the allure and the excitement, the Gold Club wasn’t without its complexities. “Of course, they had the gold rooms upstairs, and funny things would go on in those rooms. But, you know, alcohol and sex go together.”
While Sierra embraced the world of stripping, she was clear about her boundaries. “I don’t like guys grabbing and touching me,” she says. “I don’t mind being a slut, but a whore is a whole other thing.”
Once Sierra got comfortable in her new world, there was no holding back. “After I discovered how to give myself an orgasm, I was hard to stop. Every guy was a target after that for at least six years,” she confesses, underscoring her newfound sexual empowerment.
